The poets who gather around the meeting table of the Nebraska Writers Workshop are on a journey to perpetually learn from the past, experiment with concepts, and write succinct poetry that speaks to the minds and imaginations of today’s appreciative fans. They draw from a variety of resources, stretch their language skills, and rely on one another to honestly evaluate and support their efforts. “Words on the Winter Wind”

The above photos are from our “Words on the Winter Wind,” the only formal public poetry event in the Omaha area. We brought people together every January for this poetry reading at the library in the pre-Covid years, and although next year’s even has not yet been scheduled we hope to bring it back soon if we have enough interested participants.
